But he's spending them like cheap toilet paper...

As I mentioned in a previous article, I wouldn’t want to have a beer with Donald Trump. He had some policies that reflected my concerns with the government, trade, and the border. However, one had to sit through a lot of bombast and self-aggrandizement to hear his vision on these topics. I’ve worked for several sociopaths along my career path, profitably, so I wouldn’t rule them out simply for displaying narcissistic tendencies. In the end it was an easy choice, as I couldn’t have voted for Hillary Clinton if they had duct taped my finger over her name on the ballot. What she pulled during the Benghazi raid in Libya went far beyond the pale. Now, her husband Bill, there’s a guy to share a beer with.

I was a racist for supporting border wall construction. Half my family are from Mexico, it wasn’t personal. I knew our cities could never support unfettered immigration. Our current situation, sadly, proved that hypothesis. I don’t believe it’s whether we built a wall or didn’t build a wall. What we did change was our enforcement policies and allowed many folks into the country with minimal vetting and lots of “gotaways.” How can this be construed as a viable policy? History will decide if I was a racist or just a guy with valid trepidation. Either way, the current members of Congress, on both sides, are too stubborn to find enough common ground to change the bad policies.

The current fraud trial of Mr. Trump by A.G. Letitia James will cost the Donald a life. He’ll likely get some relief at the appellate level. The classified documents case against him will take another life, however, many independents believe Joe Biden should be a co-defendant at the table with him. Next spring we have Alvin Bragg’s suit concerning Stormy Daniels. Give up another life, but having a star witness as sketchy as Michael Cohen, may be an escape route. It will also shine a light on Non-Disclosure Agreements, an oft used legal agreement between citizens for lots of activities. The January 6th criminal trial will take another life, however, the backbone of the charge involves intent, a mental state difficult to prove in a court room.

Which brings us to the trial in Atlanta based on a state RICO law of election interfering. Mr. Trump may not have enough lives to cash, and a handful of similarly charged compatriots have already grabbed plea deals. Fulton County district attorney, Fani Willis, may get some of them to point directly at the former President. At that time, we will discover if Trump, again, like cats, lands on his feet.
